I am always on the search for the perfect foundation as base products are one of my favourite things in makeup. Building the perfect foundation leads to the success of any look if your base is not up to scratch the rest will simply fall apart. My complex dry, sensitive, acne-scarred skin keeps me on the hunt for the ultimate foundation as my skin is very particular! What you need to know:

- Alpine Rose: Helps empower skin’s health and resilience
- Hyaluronic Acid: Gives a smoother, more youthful appearance
Packaging
In my opinion, this packaging is gorgeous. The glass bottle with gold accents is very elegant and adds weight which makes the experience feel luxurious. An obvious positive is the inclusion of a pump which makes the application process SO much easier. However, the bottle does make travelling a little harder but I believe it’s worth it!
Coverage
This foundation is a medium to full coverage. I found it built easily without caking even when applying extra coverage. This foundation made me feel confident as it evened out my skin and even covered up most of my dark acne scars without needing extra concealer (now that’s an achievement!). One pump or two – depending on coverage, covered the entire face so I am finding the foundation is lasting a very long time!
Shades
This foundation originally came out with just 12 shades a couple of years ago and since then has formulated more to get the 35 we have now! Youtuber Jackie Aina played a role in the creation of the newest shades helping develop variations of the darker and deeper shades for different undertones. This shade range is simply amazing and the swatches and descriptions online should help with guiding you when buying online.
Application
I found the best way to apply this foundation was with a sponge as it left the best finish – which is what I usually find with higher coverage foundations. A sponge blends the foundation the best, ensuring there are no lines leaving a dewier finish. I enjoy using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and the BeautyBlender with this foundation.
Wear
So I am not exaggerating when I say this foundation made my face look photoshopped – it is truly undetectable. The hyaluronic acid and coconut water ensured my face was hydrated and smooth so it did not cling to any dry patches and flake. In addition, this foundation is oil-free so it does not get shiny throughout the day so when lightly powdered I found this foundation’s staying power was spectacular and lasted through the whole day even a long night out!
Pros
- Large shade range with a mix of undertones
- Luxurious packaging
- Stunning finish and staying power
- A buildable coverage
Cons
- I can’t think of one!
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, this is currently my favourite higher-end foundation. Whenever I want to feel confident or I need my makeup to be dependable this is my go-to! This foundation will always make me feel secure even when my skin is acting up. All in all, go buy this foundation now if you are on the hunt for a new high-end foundation you will not be disappointed!
