Estrid have set the bar high with this modern, woman-centric razor subscription. I am nowhere near religious with my shaving routine but in the warmer months I will shave and take extra care of my shaving routine as part of my self care. I have always been indifferent when it came to body hair and I appreciated and have high respects for Estrid as a brand and what they put out regarding body hair on women, gone are the days of smooth hairless advertisements, estrid show women in their true form. They believe shaving is a choice – and Estrid is just here to offer a cute, kind, cheap and super smooth option.
Hair removal should be optional. Great hair removal shouldn’t.

How is Estrid different?
Estrid isn’t just a razor. Estrid is a fairly priced, cruelty-free, quality razor that is specifically made for women. The brand founder had a hard time finding a razor that was made for the female shape, but available at the same price and quality as one built for the male jawline.
They set out on designing a razor that was cruelty-free and vegan at a fair price that any woman could enjoy. Just take a quick look at their Instagram and you’ll see how much of an accepting, diverse brand they truly are.
My experience
I chose the lilac coloured razor which is even more gorgeous in person and on display in my bathroom. The razor is pretty aesthetically pleasing but I was pleasantly surprised by its durability. I found one cartridge lasted me much longer than other cheap razors I would buy at the supermarket. The steel handle has got an expensive-feeling weight to it with a with a rubber underside for good grip. And we all know how important a firm grip is when it comes to wielding a razor, I have had my fair share of slip ups there.
The button on top makes switching razors heads super simple and easy. I’m particularly impressed with the Aloe Vera and Vitamin E edge to the razor. It is not like one of those glued on lubricating strips that goes gloopy and swells up after it gets wet once. It doesn’t fall apart, leaving bits all over you, it’s sort of stone-like but satisfyingly slippery when wet and has a much better longevity than any others I have tried.

Overall, I’m a really big fan of the Estrid Razor. They’re a great company with great values, cruelty-free and sustainable, doing their bit for the environment. I think it’s time to wave goodbye to the disposable plastic razors and welcome the Estrid subscription in.
