As the proud owner of a handful of Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palettes, it is a delight to hear about a foundation being introduced to the Naked line. The concept of a foundation that looks like the skin has always appealed to me and has been exactly what I have hunted for in the last few years. Many brands claim they are weightless, breathable and second-skin-like but most of the time they aren’t really are they. I have always been impressed by the quality of Urban Decay eyeshadows and the All Nighter Setting Spray so hopefully, I will be as equally impressed by this foundation.
I have been wearing this foundation for some time and have formulated my opinion so read on to hear my thoughts…

What it claims: “A vegan formula longwear liquid foundation with buildable medium coverage and a real-skin matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours. Our vegan formula was designed to be longwear, weightless, breathable, and flexible with a second-skin feel, so you look like you. Stay Naked blends seamlessly to even out skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores. Plus, it’s waterproof and won’t transfer.”
Packaging
The gold style of the packaging is luxe-looking and the overall design of the bottle is very sleek. The bottle is plastic which does mean it feels cheaper yet it is lightweight meaning it is more travel friendly and easy to store in your makeup bag. Nevertheless, I do enjoy the simplicity of the packaging and I immensely appreciate the inclusion of a pump as that ensures you can distribute the right amount of product hygienically, avoiding any waste.
Shades
Stay Naked is available in 50 shades with nine shade intensities for all skin tones, with built-in master tones and undertones that makes finding your shade easy as can be. They have a foundation finder tool on their website which should help make the process easier if you are buying online. In my opinion, this is the best way of organising and formulating shades as it ensures there is an even distribution of colours that have equal undertones. It makes it easier for us as the consumer to find their shade match instead of sifting through many dubious shade names for example ‘Ivory’ or ‘Espresso’… other brands take notes.

Application
To apply this foundation I used my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and stamped on two pumps of the product all over my face. The application process was so easy and beginner proof as the foundation blends itself so quickly. Due to the formula of this foundation (more detail below) powder is not a necessity and you can apply it however you desire. In the look above I took my Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish Powder and set it around my eyes and in my T-zone to dull some shine and improve staying power in those areas leaving the outer portions of my face luminous.
Formula/Coverage
The formula is on the runnier side which made blending out the foundation a dream. In less than a minute my face was completely covered, it pretty much blended itself out! Urban Decay claims this foundation has a matte finish but I beg to differ! It is not the dewiest foundation out there but the finish is natural and on the luminous side if it is not set. That being said, it can be easily mattified with powder depending on your preference. The foundation truly deserves its name as it does looks like skin, feels weightless and does not accentuate texture or dry patches one bit.
The coverage evens my skin out nicely covering over most redness but my acne and scarring does peek through. It can be covered more with concealer however it is not perfect. Personally, I prefer a natural skin-like finish with a few imperfections peeking through rather than it looking heavy. It is the perfect everyday foundation which is the reason I keep reaching for it.

Wear
As I write this review I am currently wearing the Stay Naked Foundation and can say after 8 hours it has worn incredibly well. It has been a hot day of temperatures up to 28C degrees with wearing a mask here and there and the foundation still remains intact! There are hardly any changes in the finish other than it drying down further on my skin meaning it remained transfer-proof all day. Also, I still have no dry patches after which is a very common problem I have with foundations where they will begin to cling unattractively to certain areas. As someone with dry skin, this is a big win for me as I love a natural skin-like finish because I do not always want to be super dewy every day!
To conclude, it still looks even and has not settled into fine lines or melted in my problem areas. As always I cannot comment on it whether it does have 24-hour wear as I have never worn foundation that long! However, I can say that I have never had a problem with the wear time and how it looks by the end of the day so I will keep reaching for this as I know I can rely on it to last.
Pros
- Great shade range and distribution
- Elegant packaging
- Smooth, natural and long-wearing finish
- Super easy and blendable making the application process really quick
Cons
- On the more expensive side… keep an eye out for sales!
Final Thoughts
Overall, this is one of my favourite foundation that I consistently reach for. The natural finish and long staying power is something I look for in an everyday foundation. As I loved it so much I have purchased the Urban Decay Stay Naked Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator to try out too which seems to be the dewier version. Hopefully, I will love that one just as much but I will let you know how I get on…
