Colourpop has been making waves in the makeup industry with the release of the ‘Pretty Fresh’ range. Stripping back to the basics with light ‘no makeup’ makeup has been all the rage at the moment and Colourpop has been quick to jump onto that trend. Previously, I reviewed the Pretty Fresh tinted moisturiser and had an enjoyable experience.
As someone with drier skin who is learning to embrace the irregularities of the texture and appearance of my face, this range has been especially appealing to me. If you also find it compelling read on to hear about my thoughts and experience with the Colourpop Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist…

What it claims: “Refresh your makeup and revive your skin with this hydrating setting mist. the micro-fine mist applies a refreshingly light veil over the skin, leaving you with a fresh, healthy-looking glow. wear it over pretty fresh hyaluronic tinted moisturizer to enhance your dewy look or wear it over setting powder to revive your skin.”
Ingredients
This mist is packed with hydrating ingredients to refresh your skin such as hyaluronic acid and coconut water, which are the main two ingredients that Colourpop market the product on. Hyaluronic acid is known to attract 1000x its weight in water whilst coconut water is known to support hydration and skin softness.
These ingredients show that the mist should hydrate and nourish skin even suggesting that it may not be suitable for those who lean to the oiler side as you may find yourself to be over hydrated.
Packaging
The bottle is an elegant pale pink colour which is gorgeous and aesthetically in keeping with the whole ‘Pretty Fresh’ range. Also, the bottle does feel lightweight since it is plastic meaning it is easy to travel with and does not weigh down your bag.
As the bottle is plastic it can feel cheap but it is highly comparable to Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray packaging which is twice the price! Even better I would say this delivers the best spray I have ever used. The mist is microfine, so gentle and distributes the product evenly.
Wear
On application, this mist feels super light on the skin and does not disturb any of the makeup underneath. This is designed to be a hydrating spray and does leave your skin with a glowy finish which I find looks very natural and gorgeous.
It manages to smooth out the texture of the skin by setting any residual powder left on the face making the surface of my makeup appear natural and smooth. Nevertheless, this spray does not necessarily help with makeup’s longevity but I would say its main selling point and the reason I continue to reach for it is how it makes my makeup look.
Pros
- Microfine spray
- Hydrating ingredients
- Natural/glowy finish
- Affordable
- Vegan
- Pretty packaging
Cons
- Some people’s skin can have sensitivities to coconut water which may lead to irritation
Final Thoughts
To conclude, this setting mist is a superb product that I will continue to use to keep my makeup feeling fresh. It is perfect during the dry winter months when my skin is noticeably dehydrated and so far it has helped to prevent my makeup clinging uglily to any dry patches or acne. In short, I would highly recommend you give this product a go if you also struggle with drier skin or strive for fresh makeup!
