Originally released as part of the Spring 2009 collection Essie ‘Eternal Optimist‘ is a permanent colour in the nail polish range. The soft pink nude is very flattering on all skin tones and is the perfect colour for everyday wear as you’ll never have to worry about clashing with your outfit. I find this colour to be suitable for all year round and is perfect for anyone who is looking for an elegant and versatile shade.

To reach an opaque finish you definitely need at least two coats as the colour is sheer on first application. Although, due to the sheerness of the colour the polish is very smooth so you do not have to worry about any bumps or gloopiness. The finish is glossy but not gel-like so it is important to buff your nails beforehand to ensure the finish is flat and even.
The drying time of this nail varnish is satisfactory and dries quick enough as long as you don’t do too many layers. One thing I do love about Essie nail polish is that they don’t chip within 24 hours of applying it! The photos above are after three days wear and I can even go a whole week with them still looking acceptable before redoing which is so long-lasting for an £8 nail varnish.
This colour is beautiful for any events or professional settings so I will continue using this shade religiously whilst keeping an eye out for more from Essie!
