I have never been someone to opt for a lighter coverage foundation but the Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation has changed my mind completely. My skin is riddled with acne scars and discolouration so I have always chosen to use full coverage foundation to give my skin that perfect finish but this foundation has completely changed my perspective. This foundation provides the perfect coverage for day to day wear and has allowed me to embrace my not so perfect skin. So let’s jump into the details!

What it claims: “Double down on radiance with Healthy Mix Serum from Bourjois. Banish fatigue and get that even, natural finish you deserve thanks to Healthy Mix Serum. This gel foundation with a serum action improves skin beauty day after day and delivers vitamin-rich fruit therapy (litchi, pomegranate, goji) to instantly revive your complexion and boost its radiance for up to 16 hours. When you want nothing less than a luminous, dewy complexion, Healthy Mix Serum gets you glowing.”
Application
To apply the foundation I use my ZOEVA Silk Finish foundation brush it applies the product super quick and leaves a streak-free finish. I find this foundation lasts longer when using a brush rather than a sponge as it has been properly worked into the skin. The light coverage will mean if you have any active spots they will peak through but that can be easily fixed through spot concealer which will give your skin a perfect look but not the heaviness you can get from a full coverage foundation.
Complexion
I have dry skin that can sometimes get oily throughout the day in my t-zone. This foundation is definitely designed for those on the drier side as it has been designed to look luminous and radiant.
Colour
I am using the palest shade which is 51. I have yellow undertones in my skin which are more evident during the summer months when I have more colour (because let’s be real I am no colour in my skin right now) and the Bourjois foundations are great for yellow undertones as a lot of drugstore foundations can look very pink. However, the shade range is quite limited and could be more inclusive of darker skin tones and different undertones as you can see below.
Longevity
I found the longer I wore this foundation the better it looked. As the day went past it seemed to melt into my skin and look untraceable but still giving that natural coverage. I do use the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder which may add a few hours onto the wear time.
Pros
- Natural, Radiant Finish
- Easy application
- Long wear time
Cons
- Small shade range
- Some people may prefer a fuller coverage
Final Thoughts
This is my go-to foundation for smooth everyday coverage when my skin is being kind to me. It wears so well throughout the day looking gorgeous in natural daytime light. If you are into light to medium coverage foundation or are on the hunt for a new one I would advise you give this drugstore win ago!
