Urban Decay Naked palettes have made their way into at least everybody’s makeup collection whether you have 1, 2, 3 etc. They are widely known for their pigmentation, blendability and range of usable colours that can easily be taken from day-to-night. One of my most used palettes is the original palette as it is guaranteed to give you a beautiful look that suits almost every look so I was incredibly excited when I saw a new Naked palette release. This palette *breathe* this palette as soon as I set eyes on it I knew I needed it. Urban Decay has jumped onto the warm-toned eyeshadow bandwagon and set it on fire.

The eyeshadow palette uses the Pigment Infusion System™, a special cocktail of ingredients that ensure a velvety texture, rich colour, staying power and blendability. So whether you use Ember to create a warm smokey eye or En Fuego to make your lids pop, you can guarantee a look that sizzles.”
The Shades
Ounce (ivory shimmer) This shade is nothing special. It is not unique and you will be able to find many similar shades in lots of different palettes but it is helpful to have one in this palette for the brow bone or inner corner highlight. I will struggle to find a use for this though as I usually use a highlighter for my brow bone and inner corner as I like it bright.
Chaser (light nude matte) This shade would be perfect to use in a no-makeup look all over the lid. It adds that slight warmth that can define your eyes and bring a natural look together. It will also be very handy to those like me with very pale skin to use in the crease or as a transition shade.
Sauced (soft terra-cotta matte) I love this colour. It is essential when creating a matte eye look which is one of the favourite to do for everyday wear. It blends beautifully all over the lid and crease and works extremely well with more complex eye looks when buffed into the crease.
Low Blow (brown matte) This is a nice shadow blended all over the lid and crease to create a very basic matte grunge look. I love wearing grungy makeup in winter months so this will be my go-to as we head out of autumn.
Lumbre (copper shimmer w/gold pearl shift) This shade gives me rose gold vibes so I will find myself using this in spring/summer as I love pink makeup during that time of year. The colour was pigmented and rather metallic but it will need to be dampened to reach its full potential.
He Devil (burnt red matte) Red eyeshadows scare me. I worry that I will make myself look like I have an irritated eye. I will experiment but I will struggle to use this as much as some of the other shades. As the shade is so pigmented apply with caution!
Dirty Talk (metallic burnt red) Out of all the shimmers I found this one applied the best. It is the smoothest and most wearable due to bronze cast through it.
Scorched (metallic deep red w/gold micro-shimmer) For me this eyeshadow was kind of crumbly as I swatched it so that raised some red flags for fall out. So when using this shadow I would bear that in mind for the order you apply your makeup.
Cayenne (deep terra-cotta matte) This shade blends nicely and I would use it in my outer V for depth and I think it would be too dark for a crease shade alone as my skin tone is so far so I would it very sparingly.
En Fuego (burgundy matte) One again red scares me. I could see this shadow working amazingly with gold eyeshadow to create a classic look. It would be great to deepen smokey looks.
Ashes (deep plum matte) I rarely experiment with dark shadow due to my complexion I fear I will look beaten up. I have experimented with this shade in private but have not quite gotten the ball to wear it out yet.
Ember (deep metallic copper-burgundy) This shade I found to be slightly glittery but it is a beautiful colour. I will struggle to use this myself but I can see myself using it on my friends when I do their makeup as they suit smokey eyes.
Pros
- The eyeshadows are of high quality. They are blendable, pigmented, creamy everything you need in an eyeshadow!
- This palette is so versatile. The amount of looks you can create is never-ending; you can create basic matte looks too complex metallic smokey eyes. This a reason many people love the Naked palettes due to their range of day and nightshades.
- This palette has a huge mirror. That is a bonus for any type of makeup product as this makes the palette great for on-the-go makeup and travelling.
- Lastly, this palette comes with a high-quality double-ended eyeshadow brush. This brush is soft and extremely useful for packing and blending eyeshadow into the outer v as it is quite dense and pointed. Much better than them little sponge applicator some palettes come with.
Cons
It is an amazing product but there are a few cons that might be a deal-breaker for some.
- Firstly, the packaging feels solid and sturdy but it is plastic which for me seems rather tacky. For such a high-quality brand I would expect high-quality packaging but this just was not. However, I do like the colour design on the front I think it compliments the eyeshadows well.
- Now this one may be a given but this palette will only give you one type of look and that is a warm orange look. For those who lean more towards cool-toned eyeshadows, this palette is not for you at all. If that is more your cup of tea I would advise you to check out Urban Decay Naked 2 palette which has a beautiful range of cool-toned taupe shades that will be more up your alley.
- Lastly, some of the metallic shimmers contain some fallout, it is only minimal but it is there. A setting spray is also handy to use to help the eyeshadows reach their full potential.
Overall, I would recommend this palette to any warm-toned lover as it has such a range of blendable and pigmented warm shades. It is high-quality and always reliable when you need to nail a look!
